A baby seal had a lucky escape after he was rescued when he wandered a little too far from the ocean and ended up stranded on the highway.
Police say they spotted the seal waddling down the highway in Yarmouth Port on Cape Cod, along with the Amazing Animal Ambassadors both teams were able to put the seal into a cage until the wildlife officials arrived.
He was given a full medical check and was released back into the ocean on Saturday.
The little seal was named by the police as Houston, in honour of Kevin A, a U.S. Navy Seal from Cape Cod who was killed in Afghanistan.
Yarmouth Police Dept posted the story on their Facebook page and officers wished the seal pup good luck. “Thank you for visiting us and stay warm and safe out there buddy!”
